First United Methodist Church is located on Historic Main Street in Jonesboro, Arkansas. With the forward thinking of their staff and congregation, they are well on there way as being known as the "GREEN" church.

After lighting the front of their church with energy efficient LED lamps, they are looking forward to being better stewards of their resources in all areas. Just in the front alone, they are saving over a 1,000 watts of electricity. And the Solid State lamps are completely recyclable - no mercury, lead or other poisonous properties.

Before, the stained glass cross could not be seen at night. Looking at the pictures below, one can see the beautiful color brought out by the LED's. Another application that is being considered is back lighting the glass blocks that line the interior of one of their meeting spaces. With applications for parking lot, entrance and stage lighting, the possibilities are endless!
